The evidence: each wins on its own goal
Both products have something rare in this category: a randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial of the finished formula. And each trial tells a clean story about what the product does — and doesn’t — do.
Semenax: share of men with a 20%+ volume increase (MacKay 2022). VigRX Plus: average IIEF-EF gain after 12 weeks (Shah 2012).
The pattern is tidy. Semenax moved volume but not erections. VigRX Plus moved erections but not semen parameters. So if you buy the wrong one for your goal, the evidence says you shouldn’t expect much.
On strength of evidence, VigRX Plus comes out ahead: its effect was larger relative to placebo, and the dose you buy is the dose that was tested. Semenax’s trial used twice the bottle’s dose, and its average gain — about half a millilitre — is modest. Both trials were funded by the company and neither has been independently repeated.

None of those combined amounts is unusually high for these herbs, but hawthorn affects blood pressure and heart rhythm, and the two products together add ginkgo, pine bark and arginine on top. If you take blood-pressure, heart or blood-thinning medication, or any ED drug, ask a doctor before combining them. Practically, it’s also six pills a day at label doses — or ten if you follow Semenax’s trial dose.
